I hope to meet many of you at the following July 1st events:

Canada Day in Riverdale Park/ East Chinatown

Coordinated by the East Chinatown Chamber of Commerce with the assistance of SEAS Centre, Eastview Community Centre, Bridgepoint Hospital, Ralph Thornton Centre and my office, there will be lots of stage performances, arts and crafts, a ‘bouncy castle’ for kids, games for seniors, information and display booths and many food vendors offering delicious treats.  Bring your family, friends and bikes for a fantastic day in Riverdale Park to celebrate our country’s birthday.  The opening ceremony will begin at 1-1:15 with myself, MPP Peter Tabuns and City Councillor Paula Fletcher.

East York Canada Day Parade and Festivities
The longstanding tradition of the East York Canada Day celebrations continues this year with a host of great events for the family throughout the day. Come march in the parade, see great artists, and enjoy fireworks at this wonderful community-organized celebration in honor of our country.
When: Sunday July 1st
Where: Parade begins at at Overlea Boulevard and Thorncliffe Park Drive. Opening ceremonies and entertainment in Stan Wadlow Park (888 Cosburn Avenue)

Pride Toronto 2012
I will be taking part in various events throughout this week in Celebration of Pride in Toronto. The Pride Parade will take place July 1st at 2 pm.

For those of you who are busy celebrating Canada day, the Trans March is scheduled for Friday June 29th  at 6 pm and the Dyke March will be taking place at 2:00 pm on Saturday June 30th. I hope to see you all there representing and showing support for the vibrant LGBTQ community of Toronto-Danforth.
